How do I read and answer guests who write in another language?
Translate one message or a whole chat, send voice notes in the guest's language and read their voice notes as text, on your own number.

Open the guest's chat in Spun, click the globe icon in the chat header and switch on automatic translation for that chat, or translate a single message from its translate icon: you read the guest's words in your language and your reply goes out in theirs. The detected language is shown so you can catch a wrong guess. Spun runs on a flat monthly plan with team members free and a free trial. It works on your hotel's or agency's own WhatsApp number, with no Business API approval and no new number. It is machine translation: for contracts, medical details or legal wording, have a person check the text before it goes. Voice translation, where the guest hears your voice note in their language, is on paid plans.

How your team works it
Translate one message
Hover over the message and click the translate icon. The translation appears under it, with a line such as "Translated to English from Indonesian".
Open the language settings for the chat
Click the globe icon in the chat header to open Language & Voice Settings.
Switch on automatic translation
In the Messages tab, set "Translate messages to" to your language and "Translate my message to" to the guest's language. Every message in that chat is now translated both ways.
Check the reply before it goes
Type your answer in your own language. The translated text is shown for review, and you can edit it or skip the translation for that message.
Read their voice notes as text
In the Audio tab, switch on "Auto-transcribe" and set "Show transcription in" to your language.
Answer with a voice note
In the same Audio tab, set "Record voice in" to your language and "Send voice in" to the guest's, record as usual and listen to the preview before you send.
What Spun gives you

Personal data kept from the AI
PII redaction removes ID numbers, phone numbers and addresses from what Spun's AI processes, at the level you choose. Your team still sees the original message.
A Saturday at a 20-room guesthouse
- 07:40A guest writes in Korean asking for an early breakfast. The receptionist clicks the translate icon, reads it in English and answers.
- 09:15A family from Brazil will stay a week, so the receptionist turns on automatic translation for their chat: English for incoming, Portuguese for outgoing.
- 11:30The family sends a voice note in Portuguese. It appears as text under the player, shown in English.
- 14:00The receptionist records directions to the beach in English and sends it as a Portuguese voice note after listening to the preview.
- 17:45A guest asks in French about a cancellation. The receptionist reads the translation, then asks the manager to check the wording of the refund terms before replying.
What Spun does not do
- It is machine translation and can be wrong. For contracts, refund terms, medical details or legal wording, a person should check the text before it is sent.
- Transcription is automatic and not checked by a person. Long or noisy voice notes can come out imperfect, so check room numbers, times and amounts.
- Voice translation, where the guest hears your voice note in their language, is on paid plans.
- PII redaction applies to what Spun's AI processes. Spun does not verify passports or ID documents, or store them for you.

Only what you allow: PII redaction removes personal data such as ID numbers, phone numbers and addresses from Spun's AI features at the level you choose, and summaries and drafts show a redacted preview.
